Sa Hebreo, ang Kahulugan niya ay “Ligaya”

Ikatlo at Huling Yugto:

"Sa Sapiro"

Habang binabagtas yaring daan,  ako ay nagbalik-tanaw,
Kay tagal na palang nakalipas
Simula noong huli nating pag-uusap.

"Esmeralda"

Rubi at esmeralda,
Ika'y aking nakita
Ikaw'y naliligaw, nawawala, naghahanap,
Natutuwa akong natulungan ka.

Isang umaga sa gitna ng mga kalsadang
Rubi at esmeralda,
Ika'y aking nakita
Ikaw'y nasilayan, napagmasdan at nakilala,
Ikinagagalak kong napaglingkuran ka.

Ikalawang araw ng paghaharap,
Kita'y nakadaupang-palad,
Bawat katagang namutawi sa iyong mga labi
Ay aking ninamnam
Ano'ng saya't nakadaupang-palad ka.
Ay! Sana'y kaparis kita ng nadarama.

-------------------- ikalawang yugto
Muli tayong nagkadaupang palad,
Isang pagtatagpong hindi ko malilimutan.
Sa hapag ng banyagang pagkain
Sa harap ng mamahaling pinilakang tabing,
Doon may kakaibang nadama.

Kaya't sarili'y di napigilan at aking nasambit,

I find myself writing again in a blog which I have not written on in a long time. I wonder what compels me to write?  I guess it is the emotions that I feel at the time.

It is like I'm here, but I'm not.
Like someone cares,
But they really don't.
Like I belong somewhere
else, anywhere but here.

It's like you're in this moment in time,
But the second hand is stuck.
You ticked, but the tock never came
And the world just kept on spinning
And you remain the same.

It's at that moment that
you lose control
Everything is shaking
You can't think straight.
You break...

I feel the darkness slowly creeping in,
The emptiness opening its mouth
Swallowing me whole.
I want to just welcome the void.
I think it would be easier that way....

Tidbits: Random thoughts and musings:

The grass is green and the earth beneath it is brown.
But why do people think of the earth as dirt instead of the nourishment it gives so that the grass can remain lush and green?

Which do you prefer to see? That blue stain on a white shirt or that the shirt is white?

Does one prefer to fnd the fault in another over the good traits they have?

They say the eyes are the window of the soul. So if all you see are the bad side of things, maybe that says something about how you perceive yourself.

Urbanknight Tidbits: Coming to terms...

Doesn't matter where you came from. what matters is where you go from here...

Your past is your past. The only thing you can do about it is learn from it.

The first time I met you...

I wrote this the first time I met you-know-who. I actually forgot about this until this afternoon while I was cleaning out my box...

"Esmeralda"

Rubi at esmeralda,
Ika'y aking nakita
Ikaw'y naliligaw, nawawala, naghahanap,

Ano'ng saya't nakadaupang-palad ka.
Ay! Sana'y kaparis kita ng nadarama.

I was never able to finish this out... but I like how it all played out..

I don't know when I'll come back to this poem but I definitely would like to  be there as this story unfold.

Cheers!

Isang Ka-kuwan-kuwan Na Pangyayari

NOTE: This post should NEVER be translated as it would look like a product of a deranged mind.  (Not that it isn't yet. :P)

Cheers!!!

Introducing Mr. Scrooge McValentine and Valentine McGrinch...

The Valentine McGrinch

A few years back, I circulated an email among my friends an article I wrote on the very commercial celebration of Valentine's Day. I remember writing how greeting card companies commercialized the holiday to sell more cards and how flower shops collaborated on this to sell even more flowers. Even more so with restaurants, gift shops and the like.  Of course, my friends who are "in love" literally condemned me for being such a Valentine Scrooge, Valentine McGrinch and a "Bitter Ocampo" (baklabulary for a bitter person). What they missed on my article is that I wanted to highlight the very essence of Valentine's day which is LOVE. I just don't agree with the idea that you only shower your loved one with lavishness on such an occasion. I do believe this holiday (and for all holidays for that matter) should be a reminder to us to live what this holiday stand for not just for one day but each day of the year.  I would like to clarify that I do not discourage nor condemn those who celebrate the occasion to do so. It's a free country and they're free to do as they please, at least, within legal bounds. I just think that people should have some consistency in expressing how they feel. I have had my share of relationships to say that consistency is much needed in a relationship.  You don't celebrate Valentine's day then be absent (or cold - harsh!) from/to your loved one the rest of the week.  You should show your loved one you love them every day.

I make it a point to say "I love you" to my partner at least once a day because that is how I really feel and I wanted Mahal to know that despite us being both at work away from each other. It's also a reminder to myself of the reasons why I chose to be with Mahal and that makes it all the more easy to say. There is this teaching I learned from a seminar that if you want to make a habit out of something you should repeat it for at least 21 days. Well, I definitely would like to make loving Mahal not just a habit but a way of life. And so today is Valentine's day. Now that I'm in a budding relationship, I still feel that the occasion is "over-rated" and very much commercialized. I already sent Mahal my good morning and I love you message like I have done when we started going steady. I chose to be off from work. I'll probably hit the gym, get the car an oil change then stay at home and catch up on my NCIS and Arrow TV series. But who knows, I may be pragmatic but I do have a romantic side anyway so I might surprise Mahal at work with something. It's our first Valentine's day together after all.

Whatever one decides to do tonight, just do so out of the very reason why we have Valentine's day - LOVE. With that, I advise everyone today to spend wisely, love unconditionally, have sex safely (if you can't hold it!) and be responsible enough to face the consequences of your actions (or inactions) tonight. :-)

err, Happy Valentine's Day and

Cheers!!!

Of Cautious Optimism and Tempered Exuberance

Last night I was privileged to meet wonderful new friends courtesy of the love of my life (ehem!). It was in a very lovely home somewhere in San Juan. So I was introduced to CC, who owns the lovely home and the rest of the gang (whose names I remember but would not dare mention since I have no permission to do so). Drinks were served and small talks were exchanged and there after, the night's agenda was laid. The discussion started about what everyone is looking forward to the year 2013. I'm not going to dig into what each one said since this will be aired via podcast anyway (yes, ang showbiz lang di ba! Watch out for it on iTunes!) but what struck me most were the terms "Cautious Optimism" and "Tempered Exuberance". Being a very mental person I always (well, most of the time) think things through before making a major decision. And so these notion of being "cautious yet optimistic" sounded more skeptic. More so of being "temperately exuberant". My very "mental" mind says, "it does not compute, illogical!". How can you be moderately energetic? Or careful yet be positive about it? There has to be some negativity there, right?

Tempered Exuberance - distance from the ground should only
be about 4 feet high and arms only very slightly outstretched.
Anything more than that, you'll be overly exuberant! =)

And yet again, 2012 and 2013 events would not really compute mentally for me either so why question the oxymoronic notions? So taking off from what I said last night of 2012 being about re-learning gratitude, love and celebration then making great things happen and 2013 being able to make great new beginnings happen, I dare say, 2013 is a year for new beginnings. A year for new adventures , new prospects, new lives and new loves. However, these things do come at a risk. Whatever that is and how great that risk may be would vary from person to person. But indeed, 2013 is also a year to apply your lessons from 2012 so you become as careful as possible without being too delusional. It's all about maintaining your balance. And the gauge for a balanced life, I've learned in my experience is subjective. Mine for one is about the very basic emotion - love, trust and respect. That is how I plan to balance my year.

Excess: I am proud to say I've found my balance right now. I'm starting my year right by marking today as a special day career wise and relationship wise. To you Mahal, you inspire me to be the best that I can be. I've never been happier. I love you! #justhavetosayit

Cheers!

My 2012 Top 10 Icons

With the year 2012 gone, we saw a lot of countdowns here and there, The year's top 10 actresses, actors, tragedies, significant events, etc. A way to look back at the year that has gone and a starting point to the year that has come. Well, it's my turn to release my own version  of my year's Top 10. I know its a bit late to be posting a year-ender list considering we are almost at the end of January. But as I look back at 2012, I look back not only at the memories and events but at the top 10 persons who had significantly touched my life this year whether they knew it or not. No matter how small the part they think they made in my life, hey, everything to/for me is significant!   I already said no drama for the year-ender before but again, this is my blog and this ain't drama but an acknowledgement of the greatness of these wonderful people. So without  further delays, here are my top 10 icons for 2012:

We Made It Happen 100%! - photo courtesy of Leap Pichures fb page
10. Leap Team 51 Make It Happen    Facilitators, Students and Coaching Team - Earlier in 2012, I took this Life Coaching program called Leadership Excellence Achievement Program. It was a leap of faith, taking that course; I was jobless, almost to the point of being dead broke, not to mention that my life had no direction at all. This group helped me re-focus and bring my life back into perspective. In the almost 3 months we spent together virtually and personally, I have come to treat this group as my source of good vibes and strength. Each one had their own story and I am very thankful that I have been made part of a chapter in their lives. Individually, we were able to make our lives work. Together, we Made It Happen!

Supernova are L-R; Chelle Sadie, JP Jacinto, Nyms Sumakot,
Reyson Yap and guided by Coach Maevie Ortiz (center)
9. LEAP 51 Make It Happen Supernova - During the 3 month program, I was grouped with a smaller council of equally bright and powerful human beings. We called ourselves, Supernova based on the  astronomical phenomenon  when/where stars are formed. Supernova is the brightest point of a star and our council was supposed to shine our brightest light. We did shine brightly in the end of our LEAP journey although distance and personal struggles almost dimmed our brightest lights. These people were my rock when I broke down and lost faith in myself. I was their council leader and was supposed to be an example for them. Instead I ended up learning so much from them and they became my teachers. I am very blessed to be part of this council. It was only months after our journey that I came to realize (through a casual talk with an equally powerful woman, Coach Carol B.) why I ended up with Supernova- it is because of my capacity to bring these people together. I would like to think that I did and I am glad I did.

Kerwin Meily - photo courtesy
of Gold's Gym page
The Trainer from Hell - taken during
Gold's Halloween costume thingy.
8. Kerwin Meily - okay, so this man on the left may be to many the "Personal Trainer from Hell". But to me, working out at Gold's Gym would never have been fruitful without him. You see, this man made me  push myself to my physical limits. I was initially a bit intimidated to learn that he is the brother of a celebrity who is known to have significantly transformed himself to a health nut. But Kerwin personally told  me he had nothing to do with that. But he had everything to do with how I look now. Not only did he help me gain confidence in building my muscles  but those small chats and encouragements after workout sessions at the fitness counter boosted my emotional confidence as well.

Carol's "Bagong gising" look. A little
sultry don't you think? - grabbed from
her fb page
7. Coach Carol Battad - Yes, this powerful woman made my top ten. How can she not? Coach Carol may not be my most favorite coach during my LEAP journey (because she made me "okray" and "ooh cry!" during one of the more crucial events of the journey) but I realized, I needed that. In a way she helped me reach my lowest low so that I can soar higher and shine brighter. Also, it was a privilege staffing a seminar under her leadership. Those casual but frank "in your face" conversations during the smoking breaks with Jackie Abueg and Inye Hernandez when we staffed for a seminar were just what the doctor ordered. I vividly remember her asking  me at one point; "Do you know why you were in your council during your LEAP journey? Why you have people from far places in your council?" and the answer was obvious yet I needed to hear it. "It is because of your capacity to be out there in the world and bring them all together!" and I needed that reminder, that I can be out there and and make a significance in the world. Coach Carol - as above, so below... your love works!

Billie Burke as Glinda, the good
witch in the Wizard of Oz.
My good witch who showed the "Tin man" his heart.
6. Chona Santos - Yup, this woman is a witch. Well, she is my Glinda, my good witch that is. I am reaching far back in late 2011 here, but that is crucial. Chona was one of the facilitators during my Advanced Leadership course. Chona, helped me realize that I am a courageous, trusting and worthy man. She helped me find my heart. During my LEAP journey her words of encouragement cheered me on to reach 100%

HC Ben Francia
5. Ben Francia - Now this man's power is his great love. Imagine being a Dad for 3 months to 39 students and big brother to 11 people. I can never forget the look on HC Ben's face when we passed our first obstacle as a team. HC Ben is an inspiration both personally and professionally. The love he shared to us and his willingness to share  his professional expertise is simply, awesome. How he transformed his career will always be an inspiration to me.
Check out his website at www.benfrancia.com and know how he can help your business gain ground in the internet.

Jackie Abueg
4. Jackie Maronilla Abueg - I call her Bunso. A Fashion genius, a loving daughter, sister and friend. She is a very powerful woman who talked me into staying on and not to quit LEAP when I almost did. Well, Jackie, we made it through and your confidence in me mean a lot. I love you sis!
Lunch with Inay Maevie at UCC Coffee

3. Maevie Ortiz - My pre-coach and my LEAP coach. I'm sorry for the times I made you cry because I fell victim to circumstances and wanted to give up. But you were there when I journeyed and your words of wisdom and encouragement got me through. You will always be a friend and a big sister your love made it happen for us, your Supernova babies.

Lee, Mawi Acosta and yours truly
2. Lee Cruz - There are a lot to say about this man. But I have nothing but gratitude for his unending love.  He taught me a lot in handling family matters, personal relationships and about being a better person. In 2012, you showed me who you truly are.You are LOVE, and with your love, I am infinite.

Christmas 2011 - Can't believe I got my
Dad to wear a Santa Hat!
1. My Dad and Mom - these two gave us quite a scare in 2012. Mom, with her gall bladder operation and Dad without saying anything, was my pillar of strength when I was really scared of losing Mom. What can I say, I learned more from my parents last year than any year of my life. I guess because I saw them in a different light.
Some people say we become our parents when we grow old. Yes that could be true, but my parents also taught their kids to become the best that they could be and that made all the difference.

Of course I have to acknowledge numerous other people too. My Cisco team, my siblings, the rest of the family, friends who stood with me and by me when I went loco, new found loves, erstwhile loves, lost loves, etc. for you I would not have been able to look back and say, "Hey, 2012 has been just awesome!" and that is that.

Cheers!

Ooh Cry!

Posted on FB. I think this deserves a spot on my blog.

Nao-okok sa tagal ma-extract na report... mag-grammar check na lang (in bold font and yellow highlight)

based "on" hindi based "from"
Looking forward "to" hindi looking forward "for"
we "thank" God hindi we "thanks" God

At sabi nga ni Janine, “For me, being Miss Universe is not just about knowing how to speak a specific language. It’s about being able to influence and inspire other people. If you have a heart to serve and a strong mind to show people then you can be Miss Universe,”

'Pinuyir!!!

Cheers!!!

I miss writing stuff like this...

Dani:

Nais kong balikan ang balintataw ng nakaraan.
Kung saan pag-ibig ang aking adhika
Bawat titik at katagang nilikha
Damdaming nais iparating, ligaya man o luha

Sa lalim ng gabi’y nananaghoy,
Nagsusumamo sa aking musa
“Bigyang buhay aking kataga,
Balutan ng pag-ibig ang aking salita.”

“Nahan ka aking musa?
Ibalik sa akin, regalong pag-ibig sa paglikha.
Ang pagtagni ng titik at tuwa,
Ang paglilok ng musika at luha.”

Sa gitna ng huwad na rangya,
Nananangis ang makatang nangungulila
Hangad pa ri’y tuwa ng paglikha,
Paghahabi ng damdami’t salita.

Note:

This was written early 2012 when I was musing about life in the confines of my room. I was then jobless, single and clueless on how to go on with my life. I think I even started crying for no reason at all... and that was when I wrote this. When i lost my inspiration to write, I think I also lest my zest for life and simply stood still - stuck. Thankfully I recovered and was able to bounce back. I owe this to the people in my life and to those who came into it while I was taking LEAP.

Cheers!

The Evolution of my Internet Persona

I have used a lot of nicks or handles in my life as a netizen. I have been the Scorpionx, Bodythief, Memnoch1028, Raglan_James and Magnus in various chatrooms and websites. I have been JP, Paulo, Paul, Shadowsteel, lonehunter_ph, Boysuplado, Boytoy1028, Supladongbata and UrbanKnight. I have been really, REALLY creative in coming up with my aliases.  Truly when you're on the net, you can be anyone you want to be.

Among all these nicknames and aliases, a few stuck to me most: Bodythief, Shadowsteel, Boysuplado and Urbanknight. I think I've used this four aliases on the net more often than the rest for the reason that I identify with them most. Allow me to introduce you to my four most favorite net persona(s):

I have a copy of this book's
edition among  many
if not almost all of Anne Rice's
 Vampire Chronicles.
Bodythief -  My all-time favorite net persona that I even made up a fantasy story of myself melding into the character. Probably worth a blog or a short story soon.  I think I have used this nickname on the net and in various sites more often than the rest. If you are not familiar with the Body Thief, he happens to be taken from the lead character in one of Anne Rice's novels.

Raglan James learned how to steal another's body by switching souls with his victims. He had the misfortune of trying to steal the body of Lestat, Anne Rice's protagonist in the Vampire Chronicles. The book went on about how Lestat, with the help of his friends, outwitted and outplayed the Body Thief.

Anyway, my point here is that I chose the Bodythief because in my search for an identity, I sort of like, assimilated those of whom I interacted with at the time. I sort of "borrowed" identities in my hopes to define my own. The bodythief I guess, has been my alter ego for the longest time because I have searched long and hard to find my self. I can't say I have already found my entire life's purpose but suffice to say I have found the need to change overtime to adapt to changes in my life. I will be forever grateful to this alter ego for he opened doors to different aspects of the net (and my life) that I never knew existed. For years he and I trodded the same path. But the bodythief has served his purpose. He gave way for new alter egos to be born.

Boysuplado - need I say more?  People who know me personally or at least know of me would lay testimony to this charateristic. I am suplado (snob) incarnate. Even on the net, I'm very seldom to be the one to make the first move and more likely to throw somebody off even if all they did was say "hi". I find that this persona though attracts a lot of attention and admirers. Ideal for not so wholesome sites and anonymous social networking sites (all the pun intended!) Hhhmmm... I guess the Boysuplado persona stays,  but I gotta learn how to curb and tone him down. Sayang ang free drinks sa bars. hehe.

Shadowsteel - perhaps my most sentimental internet persona. He's the lonestar warrior, star-crossed lover and sentimental micro-blogger born out of Twitter. He's probably my most-opinionated persona, unafraid to lambast almost anybody whether or not that somebody is on Twitter. Oh, nevermind that he only has 81 followers. Nyahahaha!
Nevertheless, The Shadowsteel has been one of my softer alter-egos as well. I started blogging with him and has digitized my literary creations through him. I learned Multiply, Twitter, Blogspot, Wordpress and similar sites through him. As Shadowsteel, I began to see the internet as an avenue of growth and not just a  venue to socialize and stalk people. Ironically, as Shadowsteel, I am bolder, harder, more fearless, more visible yet quiet and stealthy as PeterPan's shadow. I am slowly showing off my face on the net as I am coming into terms with who I am and what I desire to be.

The Original Manhunt Central Avatar:
The Majestic Manhunt Centaur - the
true Urban Knight.
Urbanknight (Urbanite) - I have thought of this name way back when I was still co-managing a chatroom  via IRC and was elected area manager for its Ortigas and Makati districts. Given our city location, why couldn't chatters of our area be not called such? We were after all, the Central Business District dwellers, we were the authentic urban dwellers - the "urbanites".  Naturally our busy city lives eventually  took over and the Urban Knights drifted apart. I however, think this name still lives in me and is now more than ever descriptive of what I have become through the years. You see I am still here living in the heart of the Metro, still breathing,  still fighting to survive the urban jungle. My life experiences has broadened allowing me to be more mature, in views, attitude, action and perspective in life both on and off the net. It is still me, the sentimental Bodythief with the angst of Boy Suplado and the stealthiness yet daring of the Shadowsteel all fused into this urban fighter. I now walk through life bolder yet sensitive, stronger yet gentle and fiercer now more than ever. I am definitely more (mis)adventurous now and I will more than likely write more about them as I live the mark I know I leave into the lives of the people I touch.

Cheers!

So this was supposed to be posted weeks ago but since I have been procrastinating, I only got the chance to finish this now.
So I brought my sister's kids to Bonifacio High Street for some toy-shopping since two celebrated their birthdays recently. I cannot help but get sentimental when my niece came to me and hugged me and said "Thank you, Jaja."
I have no kids of my own (yet!). So naturally, with thirteen nephews and nieces (just from my siblings, not counting the cousins), all attention of the "doting uncle" go to them. Coming from a closely-knit family, I not only stood by while these kids were growing up but I was literally a player in their formative years. I gave them milk, sang them lullabies, put them to sleep and yes, even changed their diapers.

My point here is? Well, just spend time with the young ones while they need us. there will come a time when we will need them but they might be too busy to give us their attention. Whatever family values you instill on them while they are young, they will most likely do to you or their kids when they get older.
Oh and this article is inspired by the song "Cats in the Cradle". =P

Cheers!

I Die a Little...

This is a post from that other blog site and I decided to transfer this post here. It's a bit cheesy but hey, that's me. Read on if you like or mosey on if you're not interested, I could't really care less. (Insert hashtag #dedmatologylang here =P)

“Doctor, doctor, give me the news I have a bad case of lovin’ you….”
                                                                                -Robert Palmer
I die a little every day that I don’t get to see you.
And if I don’t hear from you, I lose a heartbeat.
I die when I miss you,
Yet I live with every moment that I yearn for you.
I die a little every time we fight,
Each moment of strife hurts like a knife.
But in spite of aches and pains and bumps along the way,
I live with your kisses and caresses and you lying by my side.
I die a little when your love blazes like raging fire,
Your love consumes me as much as I thrive on it.
I die a little when your love burns me….
Yet I could live forever when I’m with you
I die a little as I love and live,
Immortalized by your love for me and my love for you
I guess what I’m trying to say is, I have come to love you.
And that would never fade, never die.

Reborn!

I have been jumping blog sites every so often that I sometimes lose my blogs and have a difficult time tracking them.  I have activated, then erased, then reactivated then erased my Blogger profile. I have moved to another blog site then deleted it then reactivated it. Call me a Nomadic blogger or NPB (No Permanent Blog).
But why do I choose to reactivate this blog now? I honestly don't know. With the various blog sites out there, Blogger seem to be the easiest choice for me since I don't have to have multiple ids, just my Google account.
Plus, it already has some custom templates that would supposedly make my blogging easier.(I don't know about that! Would you have a template that would automatically translate my thoughts into words?)

Nevertheless, I resurrect my blog with the hopes that this time around, I get to write/post more often about my (mis)adventures in work, love(s) and  life itself in general and it's significance to the cosmos.

Cheers!
